FAT KIDS GET SICKER, QUICKER.
Watch any school bus as it unloads the kids on board and you'll be
staggered by the number of chubby faces getting off.
You'll also notice that the number of overweight children increases the
older they get. You'll again also notice, that an amazing number are
pasty faced with blotched skin, and most are coughing, wheezing like old
men and sniffling or sneezing incessantly.
And this can happen in the middle of summer when problems with colds and
the flu should be pretty well non-existent.
It all starts with obesity.
Every day now, more and more research studies confirm that obesity is
directly linked TO EVERY SINGLE DISEASE CONDITION!!!
Particularly with Diabetes which is now affecting nearly 2 out of every 3
child in the country.
Sobering statistics indeed.
SAD BUT TRUE. PARENTS ARE GUILTY.
It all starts at home.
What happened to the good old days of old when parents would ration TV
watching?
And now with the computer, kids are becoming obese sloths.
Most never see daylight or get essential "running around"
exercise and essential sunlight for their body to make Vitamin D.
Unfortunately many young parents have succumbed to the false belief that
the sun is bad for their children instead of treating it as a great health
generator.
Sadly, giant shopping malls have become more popular for teenagers than
the beaches and the playing fields.
In addition, instead of children having to walk or bike everywhere as used
to be case, they are collected by their well-meaning Mum's and driven
everywhere.
Many schools have discontinued physical activities and only a very small
percentage of children actively participate in other strenuous physical
activity.
Worst of all is the food our kids now eat.
Many parents do not make the slightest effort to ensure that their
children are getting nutritious food for lunch.
Instead of the child getting something that will benefit their bodies,
they pack in potato chips, snack bars and various other carb-laden
convenience foods.
At school, giant vending machines pump out junk food at high speed,
particularly sugar-laden carbonated drinks and sodas which can contain up
to 2000 calories in one bottle!!!
All this can lead to nothing less than ultimate sickness for the children
in later life, constant fluctuations in energy levels and a never-ending
battle against obesity!
ROOTS OF OBESITY.
The roots of obesity begin at childhood by well-meaning parents.
How many times have you watched a young mother literally force feeding her
child?
There is this mistaken belief that if the child does not eat all their
food that they will become ill, so it is forced upon them.
"Eat everything on your plate!!!"
Studies have proven that the problem of overeating doesn't start
voluntarily until after a child is three years of age.
Prior to this age, children if given the choice, will eat what they need
and leave the rest on their plate.
As they get conditioned by parents that they must eat everything, this
natural self restraint changes and they clean up everything, even if it
means "stuffing" themselves.
These factors, combined with largely discredited food pyramid and lack of
any real exercise or activity on a daily basis is the reason obesity is
the single biggest health problem facing the western world today.
